FAQ
How do I pay for this mission trip?
All volunteers are responsible for covering their expenses, including airfares, accommodation, transport, and meals during the mission.
Once you receive the invoice for land costing from AVCF, you can transfer this amount as a donation to the AVCF account. You’ll then receive a tax-deductible receipt for this contribution.
How much does it cost to volunteer on mission trips?
The approximate land cost per person typically ranges between $1,500 to $2,000. This covers expenses such as twin share accommodation, meals, and transport during the mission.
Airfares from your home city abroad are not included (see below).
Who books my return flight?
You are responsible for booking your own return flight from your home city. Approximate economy return flights from Australia range between $700 to $1,300 depending on the airline and your departure capital city.
*Please note the internal return flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Dong Hoi (our mission location) will be included in your land cost. AVCF will arrange this flight for all volunteers.

What if I want to stay back and take a holiday in Vietnam after the mission?
Not a problem – that’s a great idea! The mission officially ends on Saturday, 12 July 2025 after hotel checkout; therefore, you are free to plan your holiday from this date onward.
What are the working conditions like?
The mission’s working conditions can be challenging due to heat and humidity. The worksite will not have air-conditioning, and the typical workday runs from approximately 7am to 5pm, with a 30-60 minute lunch break. Expect temperatures ranging from 25°C to 35°C with high humidity.

Volunteers often have free time in the evenings to explore the local area after dinner.
