Since its establishment in 2015 AusViet Charity Foundation (AVCF) has been dedicated to supporting disadvantaged communities across Vietnam and Australia. One of our key initiatives has been delivering vital healthcare services to remote areas of Vietnam through our medical missions.

While unforeseen circumstances have required us to pause our medical mission program until 2026, our commitment to helping those in need remains as strong as ever. This temporary delay will not stop our ongoing efforts to create positive, lasting change in the lives of vulnerable communities!

In August 2024 AVCF carried out it medical mission in Binh Thuan. With over 120 volunteers from Australia, USA, Canada, UK and Vietnam we accomplished the following objectives:

  • DENTAL CARE: 478 patients mainly children were treated, including dental examinations, dental fillings and root canal therapy.
  • GENERAL MEDICINE: 1,296 patients received general health examinations and consultations.
  • BLOOD TESTS: 517 patients underwent blood tests. One patient was transferred to the hospital for a lifesaving blood transfusion.
  • PHARMACY: 5,119 prescriptions were dispensed.
  • SONOGRAPHY: 270 ultrasound examinations were performed. Four cases of cancer were detected. AVCF provided financial support for these patients to receive further medical care.
  • AUDIOLOGY: 87 patients had their hearing tested and received hearing aids.
  • OPTOMETRY: 220 eye examinations were conducted, with free prescription glasses and sunglasses provided.
  • PHYSIOTHERAPY: 308 patients received physiotherapy treatment. Additionally, 40 walking sticks and one wheelchair were distributed to those in need.
  • GIFT DISTRIBUTION: 700 food hampers were distributed to impoverished households.

After completing our medical mission in Binh Thuan in 2024, we witnessed firsthand the immense need for support in this remote area. While we were able to address some immediate health concerns, it became clear that there are still so many ways we can have a lasting, positive impact on the people of Binh Thuan.

One of the most urgent issues we discovered is the lack of access to clean water for many families living in the more isolated areas of the province. In order to access the clean water they desperately need, these families must install water meters and piping to connect to the main water supply.

For just $250AUD, AVCF is able to install both the water meter and the necessary connecting pipes, providing a family with life-changing access to clean, running water in their homes.

We have identified 150 families who are in dire need of this crucial support. With your help, we aim to raise enough funds to install water meters and piping for these families before the end of the year.

This initiative is just the beginning. If we are able to reach our target, we hope to extend our support to another 150 families, ensuring that even more people in Binh Thuan can enjoy the basic human right of clean, accessible water.

Every donation counts and can directly transform lives. Please consider making a contribution to help us achieve this goal. Together, we can bring life-changing resources to those who need them most!
