On 21 February 2016, our local AVCF Vietnamese volunteers from Da Nang prepared a nutritious lunch for 310 mentally ill patients.

The standard of living and care in developing countries is much lower than what we would be comfortable with accepting in a bountiful country such as Australia.

These psychiatric patients are fed 3 meals a day, totalling a mere 13,000VND ($0.78c). At such a low cost, you could imagine how nutritionally deficient these people must be.

Through a simple gesture such as providing a wholesome meal at lunch for these patients (a true rarity!), AVCF was able to bring a little hope, happiness and health to their lives.
